Andrew Wilcox Sextet @ Walnut Hill Jazz Series

The NBMAA is pleased to host the third annual Walnut Hill Jazz Series; in partnership with the Hartford Jazz Society, we present a series of four jazz performances showcasing the best regional musicians from Hartford, Boston, New York City, and beyond.

For our final installment of Walnut Hill Jazz Series, we welcome the Andrew Wilcox Sextet for an evening of classic and modern jazz music. Wilcox is a pianist from Boylston, Massachusetts who has studied with world-renowned musicians such as Rick Germanson, Javon Jackson, Steve Davis, David Smith, and Nat Reeves. Following his graduation from Hartt in May of 2020, Andrew started his Masters program of studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. There, he studies composition and arranging under Jeff Holmes and Felipe Salles.

Andrew can currently be seen playing throughout the New England Region performing with his trio and sextet or as a sideman with a number of musicians including Leland Baker, Dan Gabel, Haneef Nelson, Ed Byrne, Rob Zapulla, Ed Fast, Jonathan Barber and the New London Big Band. Andrew has had the opportunity to play venues such as The Iridium Jazz Club, Black-Eyed Sally’s, Mechanics Hall, and the Butler-McCook House.
