Part of a four show tour, Andrew Wilcox's Ecosystem (formerly the Andrew Wilcox Sextet) is a modern jazz group led by Hartford-based pianist Andrew Wilcox. Featuring band members from the east coast cities of Philadelphia, New York City, and Hartford, the band has a unique chemistry developed through the friendships they have together, their time in different cities across the east coast, and gigs together across multiple different groups.
Eco-System is the vessel for much of Andrew’s originals. These compositions are a reflection of the times we live in and the interconnected web that we are a part of. We are all part of a greater ecosystem that reflects the changing climate, mental health issues, loneliness, and danger felt by many in the modern world. But, also suggests a path forward through community, vulnerability, music, fellowship and understanding of one another. The Eco-System is continually pushing the envelope forwards, exploring new territory and welcoming all on board to be a part of the experience Eco-System has performed for the Paul Brown Monday Night Jazz Series, Jazz Wednesdays at Black-Eyed Sally’s, the Walnut Hill Jazz Series at the New Britain Museum of American Art, and also at the Mosesian Center for the Arts in Watertown, MA. From their humble beginnings at the Integrity n’ Music record store on the Silas Deane Highway to now, this is a band you will want to be paying attention to.
